GTK+ Frontend Screenshots
This is the first dialog that appears when you start a package file (for instance by double clicking on it or opening from the web browser).
To install the software system wide the user must enter the system password. There is always the ability to install the software locally into the users home directory, in which case the "No Password" button should be pressed.
Autopackage checks the system directly for dependencies. It doesn't matter if they are installed from another autopackage, from source or using the system package manager.
Depending on the package, Autopackage may be able to download and install dependencies automatically from the Internet.
Here is a shot of the actual installation of the package.
After the installation is completed, a summary screen is presented to the user.
Autopackage supports the concept of "optional dependencies". The installation will proceed even if they aren't available, but a note will be presented telling the user about the enhanced functionality that will be available if the dependency is installed.
Installed software can be easilly uninstalled using the provided "Manage Third Party Software" utility.
